Pre-College Program

The goal of the Fried Music Pre-College Program is to immerse young musicians of all backgrounds in an inspirational and motivational musical environment. The conservatory-style program will facilitate musical maturity through weekly performances, chamber music, orchestra, and classes. The program is offered under full scholarship and acceptance is based on the audition. Scholarship retainment is contingent on the students’ attendance, class participation, and artistic preparation.

The Pre-College Program does not include private lessons. Students are required to study with a teacher privately, in order to participate in our Pre-College. The level of a student will not rise without weekly, one-on-one guidance. For classical music students who wish to pursue their studies at an ambitious level. Pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, and classical guitarists between ages 12-18 are welcome to apply.

Fried Music is proud to announce that all applicants will automatically be considered to become a Fried Music Fellow of the Pre-College Program. This opportunity will be highly selective. Fellows will receive priority selection in guest masterclasses, programmed concerts (both solo and chamber), and can apply for financial support in order to attend or apply to music related activities, such as festivals and competitions.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

All chamber music groups created through the Pre-College Program are also eligible to participate in Junior Chamber Music. Through this program, groups will have the opportunity to participate in their chamber music competition and concerto competition, masterclasses, concerts, and international tour (for top performing groups only).
*No additional rehearsals or coachings need to be scheduled. Applicants do not have to re-audition for JCM.
