Curriculum
This program is ideal for students aiming to improve technique, musicianship, and performance readiness. Whether preparing for competitions or looking for a fun and meaningful summer music experience, students will benefit from:
Daily individual practice time, guided by a designated Practice Coach—a professional musician who offers real-time tips for effective practice.
Solo performance opportunities at the end of each session (both on-site or in the community).
Chamber music ensembles (optional)
Supplemental classes, including ear training and technique class.
Social activities, such as a movie outing, paint + boba, catered lunches, and more!
Last year, students who attended at least one session had a 100% competition success rate, earning awards in every category entered.
Due to the program’s emphasis on performance preparation, students will get ample time every day to practice their solo repertoire. This year, we will be introducing a daily Practice Coach — a professional musician whose goal is to help students make their practice for effective and efficient. This Practice Coach will be supervising the students in their musical progress during every practice hour of the program. Furthermore, there will be a performance opportunity in each session, ranging from community engagement concerts to performances at Fried Music II.
The program will also offer classes like ear training and technique class to supplement the students’ learning and provide the opportunity to learn from our excellent artist faculty. There will also be opportunities for students to form and practice chamber music and receive group coachings, if they would like ensemble experience.
Recreation & Activites
We also believe that incorporating fun recreational activities into this rigorous music practice program is essential. Each day, students will spend a part of the day with a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Counselor, who will lead the group in various non-music related activities. Beyond honing musical skills, these activities provide a vital outlet for relaxation, helping young musicians recharge and avoid burnout. Engaging in sports, games, or other creative outlets not only promotes healthy rest but also fosters social bonds, encouraging teamwork and communication skills that complement their musical growth. Balancing discipline with enjoyment ensures kids thrive both as artists and individuals.
Attendance
Regular attendance is key to success. Students are expected to arrive by 10:00 AM each day. Excused absences include illness, school-related events, or pre-approved artistic conflicts.
There are no refunds or credits for missed days, but students may make up missed days in a different session at no extra charge.
