5:30-6:15 Cello Ensemble

$90 per week

Every Sunday evening, our community of non-professional adult cellists come together and make music.

This summer we will be expanding our cello group into a larger ensemble. We will be inviting in ”guest” professional cellists to play in rehearsals to create a massive, beautiful cello sound.

For technique class, we will focus on Professor Hans Jensen’s “CelloMind”, as he is giving three exclusive to Fried Music zoom lectures for our students over the course of the summer. His book is a deep dive into the cello, with amazing practical results.

The Cello Academy also offers opportunities for students to perform solo repertoire with a piano accompanist in a performance class setting once a month.

The art of “chamber music” has humble roots, originating in the home. Musicians would get together, often non-professionally, to read through new compositions by Beethoven, Brahms, or Schubert. At Fried Music, we encourage adults of all levels to participate in chamber music, as the satisfaction of engaging with some of the most profound repertoire is the engine behind one’s commitment to music.

In the pursuit of high level music-making, no matter the training or background, some groups will be placed with our faculty in order to create great music together.
